Kells Priory (founded 1193 AD) Located a few miles outside Kilkenny City, beside the King's River, Kells priory is well worth a visit. During the annual Arts Week, an outdoor sculpture exhibition is located here. Access by footbridge from the larger Mill or can be viewed from the car park. Good pubs in the village.

Altamont Gardens, Co Carlow. The jewel in the crown of Irish Gardens. A large Robinsonian mixture of planting, bequeathed to the Irish State by the former owner & gardener Corona North. Great place for a picnic and to get ideas for your own garden. Located near to Tullow town (or Ballon village on the Wexford Road).
